Meet JC (that's me)

Hi.

I tried to write this in third person, aiming for a professional and polished bio worthy of LinkedIn, but that didn't feel like the real me to be honest, so I'm just gonna say hi and call it how I see it.

I love making things. It feels so good to pull something from nothing and fidget with it until it's exactly what it was meant to be. To take a concept like a film and distill it down to a single image for a poster, to create a mark that represents what a business stands for, or to craft the little things for a once-in-a-lifetime wedding day, it's beyond satisfying to see those things come to life. To be able to feel what someone needs and to pull that thread until we can knit, stitch and embroider it onto the world around us.

My current top book recommendations:

• Never let me go - Kazuo Ishiguro - a masterwork. The story revolves around something without looking right at it, holding on right to the end.
• Shoeless Joe - W.P. Kinsella - my fav author, my fav book. Fantastical realism at its best.
• The Water Knife - Paulo Bacigalupi - mid-apocalyptic future that feels way too real in our current climate (pun intended).
